NASHVILLE INDIE ROCK ARTIST
BRAD LEE CURTIS
RELEASES DEBUT SOLO SINGLE & VIDEO
“SURRENDER”

NASHVILLE, TN (November 30, 2020) — Nashville-based indie rock artist Brad Lee Curtis has released “Surrender,” his debut single as a solo artist. Sonically, the song lands somewhere between Fleetwood Mac and The War on Drugs, evoking celebration of the strength, will and determination that is required to follow your dreams and create your own destiny. The song arrives along with a music video that was filmed in various locations across the South West during a cross-country trek. Currently, “Surrender” is earning spins on WMOT Roots Radio.

“When I wrote ‘Surrender’ the music came first so I was trying to find the right words to fit,” explains Curtis. “I kept envisioning these desolate desert scenes in my mind and this idea of going through an existential journey. It was something I think I was going through at the time. I was struggling to figure out what direction to take and was starting to regret my decision to move to Nashville.”

Tackling his doubts, Curtis has championed forward to keep music a part of his life. “Surrender” embodies that optimistic mindset.

Born in south eastern Wisconsin, Curtis spent most of his 20s living in Milwaukee. “I got my start in the Milwaukee music scene playing bar gigs, outdoor festivals and parties. I made a few records with my last band Low Down Sound and through that experience I fell in love with the studio. It was always this mysterious, magical thing to me and I needed to know more about it.”

Curits relocated to Nashville, TN to pursue the music engineering program at Dark Horse Institute, and following completion, spent countless hours in the studio working with any artist he could find to dial in the craft of producing and engineering. He took note of how artists like Jack White and Dan Auerbach migrated to the “Music City” which opened his eyes to the further blossoming indie rock and Americana music scenes. 2020 brought him to his journey as a solo artist where he surrendered to the uncontrollable hurdles that the global pandemic placed in front of him and listened to the voice in his head to keep pushing forward.
