AMERICANA ARTIST
REECE SULLIVAN
RELEASES THIRD FULL-LENGTH ALBUM
MIDDLE SEA

TODAY
FRIDAY, APRIL 2

NASHVILLE, TN (April 2, 2021)- Baton Rouge-based Americana artist Reece Sullivan has released his third full-length album, Middle Sea. The eight-track album ebbs and flows between folk, Americana, and at times, free-spirited guitar-driven jams that deliver the songs from the middle of the ocean to conclusion on shore.

The lead single “Pretty Carry,” had Melissa Clarke of Americana Highways raving, “with a Baton Rouge bluesy swing set to a reggae beat, Reece Sullivan supplies delightfully layered music.”

Middle Sea’s second single “Blood” earned high praise from Stereo Embers, “‘Blood’ is a mid-tempo stomper that falls somewhere between the Rave-Ups and Anders Osborne…‘Blood’ is a riveting blast of soulful Americana that snakes through its nearly seven-minute length with soulful alacrity. Sullivan is a commanding presence and he pilots the track with a sure-footed confidence and a decidedly philosophical narrative, while guitarist Jim McGee is in top form, driving the track with bluesy finesse.”

Between hearing the phrase “Middle C” as a kid learning piano in Arkansas to growing up and raising two children of his own, Sailor and Pearl respectively, it’s quite fitting that Sullivan named his new album Middle Sea. He purposely went about choosing songs that veered towards pop, more than folk in comparison to his 2018 Wordsmith album. “The biggest difference between the last album and this one is that with Middle Sea, since I was recording this with my Lafayette band (Matt Cobb, Justin Broussard and Jim McGee), I chose songs differently than I normally would. For those interested in what I do, this will hopefully be a nice change.”

Middle Sea Track Listing:
“Pretty Carry”
“I’m Going to Heaven”
“Blood”
“I’ve Encountered Mandy Struggles”
“It’s A Good Day”
“The Riverband”
“A Big Mistake”
“The Ball!”

In a prolific stride, and with more material already in the can, fans can expect additional releases in late 2021. Meanwhile, Sullivan is anxiously awaiting the full return of live music following the pandemic.
