NASHVILLE, TN (July 22, 2022) — It’s “peak summer fling season” and Nashville-based country artist, songwriter and producer Katelyn Clampett delivers a quintessential summer kind of love track — “Sorta Single” — today, accompanied by an animated lyric video.

Fresh off the release of “Hang Up and Hang Out” which received praise from Taste of Country and The Boot, Katelyn brings us the next glimpse of what’s to come in the second half of 2022 with the self-produced “Sorta Single.”
“The new track feels like a sassy, badass single girl’s summer anthem,” declares Katelyn. “It’s about a girl who’s in her power and refusing to settle for less than she truly deserves; a girl who’s not afraid to walk away from something that isn’t what’s best for her. Wait for what you really want. Life is too short to waste effort on someone who isn’t sure about you.”
As authentic as Katelyn is, “Sorta Single” came about organically. Written in just about an hour, Katelyn explains, “it felt like a message that was clawing its way out of my subconscious.” With the talents of Nashville-based songwriter Adam Wood (Trace Adkins, Lonestar, Smithfield, among others) by her side, the song almost wrote itself. Born from the natural conversation between the two songwriters, the song was Katelyn’s own realization that if you’re questioning whether or not someone is as committed as you are, then it’s not worth your time. “Writing this song was me taking my power back,” she says.

While embarking on her own musical journey is no easy feat, Katelyn has some confidence-boosting experiences under her belt to help guide her. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles in 2010, Katelyn joined Selena Gomez and The Scene as a background singer. After spending the next two years touring the world, Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice then sought out Clampett to join her band as a background singer, keyboardist and acoustic guitarist. She has since shared the stage with Ariana Grande and Vince Gill, and has opened for country acts Dan + Shay, Love and Theft, Gloriana, and Kip Moore, among many others.
Along with her vocal talents, Katelyn — formerly represented by CAA and Gellman Management — has stayed true to her first love, songwriting. In between accompanying global tours, she would make frequent trips to Nashville to work with other artists, not only as a songwriter, but also as a producer. Since moving to Nashville in 2013, Katelyn has written and produced songs for chart-topping artists in Country and Christian music including Elevation Church, Leigh Nash, Honey County, and Jaden Michaels, as well as many popular companies and shows: Bud Light, Pizza Hut, Dancing With the Stars, Britain’s Got Talent, and CBS Sports.

Katelyn has taken the driver’s seat in life, chasing down her dreams and making them happen. Music is in her blood, discovered at such a young age, she knew this is what she wanted to do. “I always had really supportive parents that never required me to have a back-up plan,” Katelyn gushes. “I’m very lucky to have had that. I also had a front-row seat in watching my dad pursue his dream successfully, and had no reason to think anything other than ‘if he can do it, so can I!’” With a strong support system behind her, Katelyn is marching on with a batch of new songs to be released throughout the remainder of 2022.
