Katelyn Clampett Set to Release "Summer Mashup" on Friday, August 19

NASHVILLE, TN (August 10, 2022) — Fresh off the release of “Sorta Single” and “Hang Up and Hang Out” which received praise from Taste of Country and The Boot, Nashville-based country artist, songwriter and producer Katelyn Clampett will release her “Summer Mashup,” Friday, August 19. 

Not only is “Summer Mashup” self-produced, but Katelyn also played every instrument on the forthcoming track. It’s a fun-loving mashup of Sheryl Crow’s “Soak Up the Sun,” Cindi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and Faith Hill’s “Sunshine and Summertime,” bringing together some seasonal classics for a perfect ode-to-summer song.

“I was inspired to create this mashup because not many people do them anymore and I miss them,” shares Katelyn. “I wanted to pay homage to some powerhouse female artists that inspire me, and it was important for me to create and produce something by myself where I can solely rely on my instincts. Women in music production often have to fight to be heard and have their ideas taken seriously, so creating something that is the product of my own raw ideas and intuition feels empowering. I hope it can help empower other women in production to trust their voice as well!”

While embarking on her own musical journey is no easy feat, Katelyn has some confidence-boosting experiences under her belt to help guide her. Shortly after moving to Los Angeles in 2010, Katelyn joined Selena Gomez and The Scene as a background singer. After spending the next two years touring the world, Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice then sought out Clampett to join her band as a background singer, keyboardist and acoustic guitarist. She has since shared the stage with Ariana Grande and Vince Gill, and has opened for country acts Dan + Shay, Love and Theft, Gloriana, and Kip Moore, among many others.

Along with her vocal talents, Katelyn — formerly represented by CAA and Gellman Management — has stayed true to her first love, songwriting. In between accompanying global tours, she would make frequent trips to Nashville to work with other artists, not only as a songwriter, but also as a producer. Since moving to Nashville in 2013, Katelyn has written and produced songs for chart-topping artists in Country and Christian music including Elevation Church, Leigh Nash, Honey County, and Jaden Michaels, as well as many popular companies and shows: Bud Light, Pizza Hut, Dancing With the Stars, Britain’s Got Talent, and CBS Sports.

Since moving to Nashville in 2013, Katelyn has written and produced songs for chart-topping artists in Country and Christian music (Elevation Church, Leigh Nash, Honey County, Jaden Michaels, etc.) and popular companies/TV shows (Bud Light, Pizza Hut, Dancing With the Stars, Britain’s Got Talent, CBS Sports, etc.) 

Katelyn has taken the driver’s seat in life, chasing down her dreams and making them happen. Music is in her blood, discovered at such a young age, she knew this is what she wanted to do. “I always had really supportive parents that never required me to have a back-up plan,” Katelyn gushes. “I’m very lucky to have had that. I also had a front-row seat in watching my dad pursue his dream successfully, and had no reason to think anything other than ‘if he can do it, so can I!’” With a strong support system behind her, Katelyn is marching on with a batch of new songs to be released throughout the remainder of 2022.
