NASHVILLE, TN (October 31, 2023) — Nefesh Mountain, the boundary-pushing Americana band, led by husband-and-wife duo Doni Zasloff and Eric Lindberg announce the early release of their third single, “More Love,” from their forthcoming 2024 EP, The Cabin Sessions, to happen on Wednesday, November 15.
Originally slated for a January release, “More Love” features a beautiful rendition of Tim O’Brien’s hopeful song, with the added influence of Nefesh Mountain’s unique instrumentation and their message of “more love to flow in between us.” The band’s decision to release the single early is in response to the ongoing crisis in Israel and Gaza, with the hope that their music can bring comfort and healing during these difficult times.

In addition to the track — Nefesh Mountain announce a near month-long winter tour called “Love And Light,” with the aim of bringing communities together through their famously dynamic and touching live performances. Furthermore, Nefesh Mountain has made a commitment to donate a quarter of proceeds from “More Love,” the “Love and Light” Tour, and their forthcoming EP to charities and foundations that are dedicated to promoting peace, coexistence, and a way forward for Israelis and Palestinians.

Eric and Doni share: “Our hearts were shattered on October 7 after the horrifying terrorist attack in Israel, which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and the taking of hostages, and continue to splinter into pieces as the war ensues on the people of Gaza who are tragically caught in the crossfire. As Jewish Americans and humanitarians who have always stood up against injustices in the US and abroad, we aim to use our voices today to speak out with love and clarity in these dark times with a ‘Yes/And’ approach. So, while we are devastated after the barbaric Hamas attacks on October 7, cry and mourn with our friends and family in Israel, and continue to defend its right to merely exist as the only Jewish state in the world — we simultaneously acknowledge and decry the decades long tragedy experienced by so many Palestinians in Gaza and The West Bank, and the way in which this subsequent war is affecting and hurting thousands. As musicians, all we have to offer is our music, so we are urgently releasing our version of ‘More Love,’ the beautiful and timeless song by the great Tim O’Brien, with endless hope for a better world. The best songs speak from every angle and every side all at once, this cry for more love, understanding and compassion does exactly that.
We have seen a completely unprecedented and horrifying rise in antisemitism across the globe these past few weeks, and as a band we’ve been fighting against this Jewish hate, and spreading awareness about our love for Jewish heritage and culture for the better part of 10 years. While we are shocked and sickened by the atrocities and hatred toward Jews on the streets, antisemitism on college campuses, vandalizing buildings, violence and vindictive hate speech, we will nonetheless aim to be a beacon of light and share our message of unity, peace and love with as many out there that are willing to hear it,” they conclude.
Prior to the forthcoming “More Love,” they released the culturally needed single “The Narrow Bridge” on Wednesday, October 11. Drawing inspiration from a centuries-old Jewish teaching by Rabbi Nachmam of Bresolv, it explores the precarious nature of life and living, weaving a mystical allegory that captures the essence of the human experience.
The Cabin Sessions EP features two originals and five covers, each reflecting the values that have shaped the band throughout the years. According to Eric and Doni, the goal was to offer a new glimpse into the introspection and subtlety of this song by recording it in a new time and place in their lives, bringing it from its strictly acoustic/bluegrass origins into the wider sonic world of Americana/roots that is celebrated throughout the entire EP.
