NASHVILLE, TN (November 27, 2023) — Getting ready to kick off their “Christmas With The Dryes” tour scheduled to begin on December 2, the Nashville-based and cherished country duo, known as The Dryes, released a brand-new original Christmas song titled “Why'd You Ruin Christmas” this past Friday (November 24). A clever breakup song featuring passive aggressive references about yellow snow & mistletoe, The Dryes will be performing the song and talking about their upcoming tour on WSM Radio’s “Coffee, Country & Cody” today at 8am CT.

HOLLER Country exclusively revealed “Why’d You Ruin Christmas” last week, sharing, “while you’re all celebrating Thanksgiving over in the US, we’re enjoying a quiet day and putting our feet up on the other side of the pond and getting in the mood for Christmas. Thankfully North Carolina duo The Dryes seem to be very much on our wavelength.”

The single succeeds the release of the pairs highly anticipated five-track EP, Raisin’ Beers & Hallelujahs — a collection of keen, quick-witted lyrics compiled of life mottos that tell us who Katelyn and Derek Drye are and how they seek to live their lives — released on September 29. Earlier this month, they shared the final offering from the project with a nostalgic hometown music video for focus track “Take Me Out,” shot at a close friend's farm near their hometown of Winston-Salem, NC, delivered on Friday, November 10.

With more shows to be announced, The Cheerwine partners will embark on an intimate eight-show “Christmas with The Dryes” tour as they wrap up their time on the road with Jo Dee Messina on her national “Head Carolina, Tails California Tour.”

If there was ever a time that country music needed a duo like The Dryes, it’s now. Since premiering on Season 22 of NBC's "The Voice," joining Team Blake, The Dryes (Derek and Katelyn) have caught the attention of USA Today, Taste of Country, People Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, American Songwriter, Rolling Stone & Country Now among others. Gaining thousands of followers and rapidly growing their fan base since launching their career in 2018, they’ve accumulated over 10 million global streams and garnered a 65k social impact.

Their sassy single "Dolly Would," and their alluring, soulful track, "House on Fire," both achieved the remarkable feat of reaching #1 on CMT's 12 Pack Countdown. Recognized by TODAY as a "promising new duo," the pair made their debuts at CMA Fest and the Carolina Country Music Festival this past June, captivating a crowd of 35k fans.

Joining forces with the powerful Wasserman Music Booking Agency for exclusive worldwide booking representation, their recent endeavors include being direct support on 90's chart topper Jo Dee Messina's National "Head Carolina, Tails California Tour,” securing a partnership with Cheerwine, and landing Derek a spot as an official PRS Guitars artist.
