NASHVILLE, TN (April 12, 2023) — Today, Lonestar, the highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning country group have released the reimagined version of “No News” the band’s first ever No. 1, which topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1996 and held the position for three consecutive weeks.

With a fresh and electrifying liveliness, “No News” is the sophomore single from Lonestar’s forthcoming album, TEN to 1 — an invigorating re-recording of 10 of their #1 hits — due out Friday, June 2.

Re-recording songs that fans have loved for years can be a tricky proposition, but TEN to 1 strikes the perfect balance between fresh and familiar. It was a labor of love for Lonestar’s keyboardist Dean Sams, drummer Keech Rainwater, guitar virtuoso Michael Britt, and lead vocalist Drew Womack

After years of tailoring their songs to provide the optimal fan experience, Sams, Britt, Womack and Rainwater channeled that energy into these new recordings. “Over the years we have been playing these songs many times, we sort of gravitated to these live versions with longer solos, maybe a different kind of intro,” Rainwater says. “On ‘No News’ we sort of change things around a little bit to entertain our audience even more. We try to stay true to the meat of the song, but I think these versions are a little bit more reflective of what we do live and things we know sound good.”

Sams is proud of how the current version of “No News” came together. “Michael just started playing this really weird guitar thing,” he explains. “It had a wah-wah sound to it with all this distortion because I told him I wanted to do something different for this intro to lead us into it. He started playing with the sound and so that aggressive sound that he found on his guitar led Keech to playing much more aggressive on the drums which I think made Drew sing a little more aggressive. The overall track kind of took this more aggressive approach.”

“We’ve been doing this for a very long time, and we’ve been super blessed in our 30 plus years together to have 22 top 10 singles and then have 10 of those go No.1,” says founding member Dean Sams, who has produced the group’s last six albums. “We’ve adapted our sound so much over the years through playing live, we’ve started approaching songs a little bit differently and so we just thought we should put a version of who we are today out there with all 10 of our No. 1’s.”

TEN to 1 Tracklisting:
“No News”
“Come Cryin’ To Me”
“Everything’s Changed”
“Amazed”
“Smile”
“What About Now”
“Tell Her”
“I’m Already There”
“My Front Porch Looking In”
“Mr. Mom”

Michael Britt adds: “Most of these songs we’ve played for 25 years or so, and we know these songs like the back of our hand. It was fun to be able to record songs that everybody knows and just put a different spin on them because we’ve changed them over time.”

There’s something about combining nostalgia with innovation that turns a beloved memory into an engaging new experience. That’s the foundation for Lonestar’s TEN to 1 — giving fans brand new versions of the hits they have loved for years.

Having just celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2022, Lonestar achieved a bucket list moment on March 3 as they headlined Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium for the first time, performing to an audience that packed the venue wall-to-wall, singing along to hit-after-hit. “After 30 years together, a dream finally came true for me and my bandmates in Lonestar,” shares founding member Dean Sams. “We packed out the infamous Ryman Auditorium on March 3 for our first headline show there ever! Not to mention country’s biggest star Morgan Wallen competing with us doing a free show for fans at Bridgestone. What an iconic night for us… country music is alive and well! Thank you to everyone that came out on this special night!”

After wrapping up their most successful touring year ever last year, Lonestar continues to maintain a busy tour schedule and has hit the road for their national headlining “TEN to 1” Tour. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets.
