NASHVILLE, TN (June 2, 2023)Lonestar — the highly acclaimed and multi-award-winning country group — shows no signs of slowing down after celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2022. Today, June 2, the band has released their new album, TEN to 1, an invigorating re-recording of 10 of their #1 hits

As Forbes journalist Pam Windsor noted earlier this year, “Lonestar is still going strong.” Last week, People Magazine spotlighted the importance of the band’s song, “I’m Already There” for Memorial Day and underscored the song’s cultural importance as “the blockbuster hit that Lonestar took to No. 1 on the country charts back in 2001,” adding, “‘I'm Already There’ has long pulled on the heartstrings…an unofficial anthem of the U.S. military.”

Though Lonestar has had other greatest hits collections, this is the first set to include all ten chart-topping hits as the band was still scoring No. 1 songs when the previous hits package was released. TEN to 1 gives fans brand new versions of the hits they have loved for years.

TEN to 1 kicks off with Lonestar’s very first No. 1, “No News,” which topped the chart in 1996. The 10-song collection then proceeds chronologically with the hits “Come Cryin’ To Me,” “Everything’s Changed,” “Amazed,” “Smile,” “What About Now,” “Tell Her,” “I’m Already There,” “My Front Porch Looking In” and “Mr. Mom.”

Re-recording songs that fans have loved for years can be a tricky proposition, but the album strikes the perfect balance between fresh and familiar. It was a labor of love for Lonestar’s Dean Sams, drummer Keech Rainwater, guitar virtuoso Michael Britt and lead vocalist Drew Womack. “It just seemed like a real natural progression to go in and re-record these songs and give the fans a modern perspective on the hits,” Sams says.

In listening to TEN to 1, it’s obvious the band has infused these new songs with decades of experience in front of live audiences all over the world. After years of tailoring their songs to provide the optimal fan experience, Sams, Britt, Womack and Rainwater channeled that energy into these new recordings.

“We’ve been doing this for a very long time, and we’ve been super blessed in our 30 plus years together to have 22 top 10 singles and then have 10 of those go No.1,” says founding member Dean Sams, who has produced the group’s last six albums. “We’ve adapted our sound so much over the years through playing live, we’ve started approaching songs a little bit differently and so we just thought we should put a version of who we are today out there with all 10 of our No. 1’s.” Michael Britt adds: “Most of these songs we’ve played for 25 years or so, and we know these songs like the back of our hand. It was fun to be able to record songs that everybody knows and just put a different spin on them because we’ve changed them over time.”

After wrapping up their most successful touring year ever last year, Lonestar achieved a bucket list moment on March 3 as they headlined Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium for the first time. With the resurgence in love for ‘90s country music, Lonestar is riding a wave of nostalgia that is keeping them busier than ever. They could rest on their laurels, but that wouldn’t be their style. With new music and a busy touring schedule, retirement isn’t in their vocabulary.
