FINN dives headfirst into the chaos of human existence, with whining lap steels and captivating guitar melodies that linger on listener’s minds. The forthcoming project isn't just about love, lust, and longing — it’s a gritty exploration of everything that makes us tick. Led by brothers Mark and Luke Finn on guitars and vocals, the group features the musical talents of Josh Koop (Drums & Percussion), Jeremy Staples (Bass), Terry Hart (Guitar, Keys, Backing Vocals), and Mike Hart (Backing Vocals).
Exclusively unveiled by Ghettoblaster Magazine, “The Waterfall,” is one of their many creations that explore an aspiration for some degree of purity, or as Mark shares, “a promised land that you never quite get to.” A perfect culmination of their love for blues, country, and rock, the song exhibits elements from the classic greats of the genres, with ample room for Mark and Luke to experiment on their guitars.

With a discography dating back to 2008, FINN is always writing new songs — consistently leading to a build up of tracks every year or two. In 2021, the duo put out two albums: Mayrose, an acoustic country blues album, and Stonewalling, the rock and blues twin. In 2022, FINN quietly knocked out a 20 track collection of original rock and blues tracks, cheekily titled — Shorthand. “For us, the real excitement comes from the creative process — it's more of a never ending passion project that’s deeply fulfilling and fun, and that’s how we approach it,” Mark concludes.
FINN’s songwriting process is focused on striving for the execution of the music as it speaks to them, oftentimes drawing from a moment of heavy emotions and infusing that into their lyrics. Other times, inspiration strikes with the simple strum of a guitar chord or a quick brain dump session — maximizing the window of creative songwriting quickly and efficiently.
The brother’s passion for creating was ignited by the sound of their father’s alluring Spanish guitar — filling the house with soulful blues and old Celtic songs and creating a dichotomy of intricate evocative music from an early age. Despite growing up in suburban Melbourne, Australia, the brothers found solace in the heart wrenching guitar lines and melodies of legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, and Buddy Guy. While the brothers deeply admired Australian artists such as Paul Kelly, Nick Cave, Ian Moss, and Crowded House, they always found themselves challenging the status quo, opting for twangy guitars and lap steels with honest and ambitious songwriting. Eventually, Eric Clapton’s Unplugged struck home, and the brothers knew they were meant to sing the blues, but they added their own country twang to seal the deal.
