NASHVILLE, TN (March 8, 2024) — Acclaimed powerhouse country artist SHAYLEN is celebrating the fact that her most recent single, “Been There Before,” is on a rapid ascension — already earning over one million streams on Spotify alone since the song’s January 5 release. To mark the occasion, today, she dropped a more stripped back performance video of the song. 

Upon its initial release, the song caught Billboard’s attention with Jessica Nicholson saying, “the song’s pop-country production gives off early Taylor Swift vibes at moments, but Shaylen delivers with strong, wisened confidence.” 

Co-written alongside Andrew Baylis (Jelly Roll, Sleeping With Sirens, Austin Snell), Michael Whitworth (Alana Springsteen, Lady A, Florida Georgia Line) and Nick Bailey (Demi Lovato, Machine Gun Kelly, Mat Kearney), “Been There Before” is a dynamic anthem for every girl in their 20s. The song reflects on the ebbs and flows of dating and trying to find your perfect partner amidst all the chaos.

In just two short years since Shaylen unveiled her debut country single, “What If I Don’t,” under the Two Hats Music Group banner, she has experienced a meteoric rise, swiftly ascending to become one of the most prominent emerging female artists in the country music scene. Born outside of Nashville in Chattanooga, TN and raised in Dallas, TX, Shaylen is no stranger to the world of country music. Growing up with the voices of icons from Elvis to Ella Fitzgerald and Willie Nelson to Janis Joplin floating through her home, Shaylen has been influenced by all genres of music from the very beginning. Her roots in the south are where her country and gospel influences came from and are the core of who she is as an artist.
