Position Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced publicist who knows the media landscape, especially music media, like the back of their hand with a track record of music PR successes to back it up. This Director of Publicity has a strong communication skillset, unbeatable work ethic and remarkable desire to help assigned clients achieve their goals and build effective awareness in the media throughout a publicity campaign. This person will lead campaigns from start to finish with unparalleled attention to detail while also overseeing additional campaigns being led by other company publicists. The successful team player will possess extensive public relations knowledge, writing and storytelling competency, strong relationship skills, in addition to the ability to work and collaborate effectively within a highly team-centric, results-driven environment.
Here’s What You’d Be Doing:
Develop and expertly execute well-strategized publicity campaigns for your clients.
Responsible for spearheading multiple client campaigns simultaneously.
Skillfully and thoroughly educate the media on a client’s project.
Deliver best-in-class communication, internally with colleagues and externally with clients and media, on a daily basis.
Continually build new relationships and nurture existing relationships with the media and industry.
Join a team that positively participates in an environment that encourages innovation and creativity and thrives on motivation and education.
Actively participate in a company vision and culture where internal teams and respective clients can see and feel excited and inspired to be involved with.
Contribute to industry dialogue, publications and events by adding unique perspective and knowledge when opportunities arise.
Here’s What You’ve Got:
A drive to deliver the best results possible to all your clients and assist all publicists in the company to reach common goals.
Experience in leadership roles overseeing colleagues and ensuring their respective campaigns are running smoothly.
Proven track record leading PR campaigns from strategy to execution on both a national and regional level.
Experience communicating passionately with a client’s team which can include any combination of: managers, department heads at labels, emerging artists, icon-level artists, agents, assistants and other involved publicists. You have also developed the understanding of nuanced differences in dealing with each.
The confidence to effectively educate a potential client on PR services.
A strong passion for music in general and an appreciation for the pop, rock and country/Americana genres, specifically.
The ability to leverage media relationships to give your clients consideration for coverage.
Strong experience navigating the micro needs required when working on a campaign for an emerging artist, established artist or an icon—and you understand that a different approach is necessary for each specific client.
Has maintained healthy relationships with media; inclusive of print, online, blogs, podcast bookers and TV bookers.
An understanding that there is always another media outlet that should be pitched or a journalist that should be educated on a client’s project during a campaign.
You are equipped with a strong publicist tool box, filled with:
*Colorful, articulate vocabulary.
*Ability to find angles and tell a story or pull a story out of a client.
*Skill to craft a captivating pitch.
*Knows how to pitch via phone, email, in-person or through other socially acceptable mediums.
*An understanding of the importance of follow ups and how to elevate them.

Job Type: Full-time; salary.
Typical Office Hours:
Monday – Friday; 9:30am CST – 5:00pm CST with an understanding that PR is not a typical 9-5 gig and requires working some nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Attending client shows (typically after office hours), meetings and networking events are characteristic of the job.
