The Dryes Release Acoustic Version of Current Single "Yes"
THE DRYES
—NASHVILLE-BASED HUSBAND AND WIFE COUNTRY DUO—
RELEASE ACOUSTIC VERSION OF CURRENT SINGLE,
“YES”
NASHVILLE, TN (September 18, 2020) – Nashville-based husband and wife country duo The Dryes have released an acoustic version of their current single, “YES.” The honest love song, which highlights Katelyn Drye’s powerful vocal delivery and range, was penned by Derek and Katelyn Drye, Mia Fieldes and Jacob Sooter.
“It’s about picking each other up on a regular basis,” says Derek Drye of the song. “Being the first to say ‘love you.’ To say ‘sorry.’ We’re all a mess at times and gotta remind each other that we aren’t alone and drop the ego. Loving somebody this way always comes back around.”
“It’s based on an honest thought,” The Dryes told American Songwriter in July. “We often want to receive love before we give it, but what would it look like if we loved the other person first?” Derek said. Katelyn agreed, adding that theme is summarized in one line in the song: “It’s so hard to give the things you wanna get / But I do when you don’t / and you will when I won’t.”
“YES” follows the February release of the uptempo single, “Take You Dancin.’” Annie Reuter of Billboard noted “The Dryes kick things up a notch in its infectious new single.” Watch the music video for “Take You Dancin’” here.
